How does MiniMint connect to an AI assistant?
MiniMint publishes an MCP connector, which is the standard way an AI assistant talks to an outside service. You add it once in your assistant's connector settings, sign in to MiniMint and approve access - there is no key to copy and nothing to keep secret. After that your assistant can see your projects and their progress, price a video against your credit balance, start a clipping run once you agree to the cost, and list the clips a finished project produced. It accepts links from YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch or X. Starting a run spends credits, so the connector deliberately splits pricing and starting into two separate steps: the assistant has to show you the cost and wait for you to agree before anything is charged.

Frequently asked questions
- Which assistants can connect?
- Claude on the web and desktop, and ChatGPT. ChatGPT needs Developer Mode turned on, which is web-only and not available on the free plan. Any other client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth will also work.
- Can my assistant spend credits without asking me?
- It should not, and the connector is built so it does not have to guess: checking a price and starting a run are two separate tools, and only the second one spends anything. The assistant is told to show you the cost and wait for your agreement.
- Is there an API key to paste?
- No. You sign in to MiniMint and approve access, the same way you would connect any other account. There is no key to copy and nothing to store.
- Does it send my clips to the assistant?
- It lists what a project produced - titles, timings and scores - and never hands over the video files or their links. You download clips from minimint.pro as usual.
