What happens if a render fails?

Accepted Answer

You are only charged for what the renderer actually produces, so a job that fails is not billed. The email we send about a failed render tells you whether it cost you anything. You can retry from the editor, or contact support if a problem persists.

What are the file size and video length limits?

Uploads can be up to 5 GB, in MP4, MOV, WEBM or MKV. The source video needs to run between one minute and three hours: shorter than that and there is nothing to clip, longer and the renderer refuses it. If your file is too large, exporting it at a lower bitrate is usually enough.

Which sites can I paste a video link from?

YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch or X. The link has to point at a single video - a watch, shorts or youtu.be URL, a Vimeo video, a Twitch VOD or clip rather than a live channel, or an X post. A channel or profile page has no video for MiniMint to fetch, and you will be told so before anything is charged.

Why was my video link rejected?

Either it does not point at a specific video, or it is not on one of the sites MiniMint supports. Both are checked before your project starts, so a rejected link costs you nothing. Note that MiniMint hands the link to its renderer, which fetches the video as an anonymous visitor - so anything that needs a sign-in to watch is not reachable that way. Download it and upload the file instead.

How many credits does a project cost?

One credit per started minute of your source video - a 24-minute podcast costs 24 credits, however many clips it produces. Captions are included in that. A branded export, which renders your logo intro and outro into the file, costs 4 credits each time it runs, and branded transitions on their own are 1 credit per second of generated video. You see the cost before you confirm.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can downgrade, cancel, or pause your plan at any time from the Settings page. Remaining credits stay available until the end of your current billing cycle.

Most projects finish within a few minutes. A longer source takes longer, because the whole file is transcribed and analysed before any clip is rendered. You do not have to wait on the page — MiniMint emails you when the clips are ready, and emails you if the project fails or stalls.

Yes. Every clip opens in the MiniMint video editor, where you can trim it, change the caption style, add music, and apply your logo and branded transitions before exporting.

Are captions baked into the video?

Yes. Captions are rendered into the exported file, so they show up everywhere the clip is posted, including on platforms that strip closed captions. There is no separate subtitle file to upload.

Can I edit the caption text?

You can read the caption text in the editor and adjust it before exporting. It comes from an automatic transcript, so names and unusual terms are the ones worth checking.

Can captions be in another language?

Captions are written in the language being spoken, which MiniMint detects automatically unless you name it. You can also ask for them to be translated into another language, in which case the audio stays as it is and only the captions change.

Do I need editing experience?

No — the editor is designed for creators, not professional video engineers. If you've used Clipchamp, CapCut, or iMovie, you'll feel at home.

Does the preview match the exported clip?

That is the point of putting music and video on one timeline. Trim, offset and volume are saved to the clip as you set them, so the render reads the same values you heard in the preview rather than a copy of them.

Can I change a clip after I have exported it?

Yes. The clip stays in your project, so you can reopen it, change the trim, captions, music or branding, and export again. A branded export costs 4 credits each time it runs, so the cost is per export rather than per clip.

Yes — logos you generate and save are yours to use across your clips and channels.

Can I use a logo I already have?

Yes. On the Branded Transitions page you can upload a PNG, JPG or WebP instead of choosing a generated concept. It needs to be at least 300px on its short side, with an aspect ratio between 0.5 and 2.0. The Logo Studio is for when you do not have a mark yet.

The credits are returned automatically. Generations, refinements and variations all refund on failure, so a result you cannot use does not cost you anything.

Yes, and that is where every track comes from: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG or WEBM audio, up to 30 MB per track. Upload something you own or are licensed to use and MiniMint mixes it into your exported clips.

Is there a stock music library included?

No. MiniMint does not ship a catalogue of licensed tracks — your library is the tracks you have uploaded, which stay available across projects so a signature theme only has to be uploaded once.

Can I use more than one track on a clip?

One track per clip. Choosing another replaces it rather than layering a second, and deleting a track from your library also removes it from any clip that was using it.
